Recognizing the importance of detailed shipment data in logistics operations, we have added the capability to specify both gross weight and net weight for consignments.

New Feature Overview:

• Gross Weight vs. Net Weight: The gross weight includes all packaging materials, while the net weight refers solely to the weight of the item(s). This distinction is crucial for shipments of valuable commodities such as gold, silver, and platinum, where precise weight measurement directly impacts rate calculation.
  

Key Capabilities:

• Softdata Upload Enhancement: A new field, net_weight, has been added to the softdata payload for both consignments and individual pieces. This allows for up to eight decimal places, ensuring high precision in weight data.

• Comprehensive Support Across Modules: The net weight field is supported in all relevant Shipsy modules, including API endpoints for consignment upload and updates, Excel upload functionalities, and future support in the application payload.

• Visibility and Editability: While the net weight field will not be initially visible in CRM and the Customer Portal, it is fully supported in backend operations and can be edited from various sources.
